Today’s Topic: New-to-Me Authors I Read In 2018
Hosted by: That Artsy Reader Girl
I covered this topic just recently in my book year review for 2018. So instead, I thought I would share new to me authors that are on my TBR shelf OR who have new releases coming out this year that I want to read.
Love and Other Mistakes – Jessica Kate
I’ll have to wait until July to get my hands on this one, but I’ve been hearing good things about this debut. It looks like chick-lit at its best.
Shadow of Croft Towers – Abigail Wilson
Another debut I can’t wait to get my hands on. Part mystery, part romance and all historically set, it’s like my own personal catnip.
Romanov – Nadine Brandes
Though I still haven’t read the author’s debut, Fawkes, from last year, I like the idea of how she mixes history with fantasy. Plus, I’m obsessed with all things Romanov.
Dance With Me – A.M. Heath
To be honest, the cover caught my eye. But I rarely read books set in the 50’s-60’s and I love the concept of the main characters being dance partners.
The Anatomical Shape of a Heart – Jenn Bennett
This YA novel is just now showing up on my radar. It sounds so interesting and I’m intrigued by the male protagonist being a graffiti artist.
The Last Days of the Romanov Dancers – Kerri Turner
Oh, did you not believe me when I said I’m obsessed with all things Romanov? Not to mention it’s about Russian ballet dancers with the Imperial Russian Ballet and it’s set right before the Bolshevik Revolution. There’s no way I’m missing out on this one.
I’m Here – Christy Chafe
The premise of a widow receiving a text message from her dead husband is all the info I need to snag my interest.
The Songbird and the Spy – J’Nell Ciesielski
I read an review of this WWII novel which was enough for me to put it on my TBR list. How can I pass up a British spy posing as a Nazi officer rescuing an American musican.
Murder at Archley Manor -Sara Rosett
I’m a huge fan of cozy mysteries no matter what form they come in. This one reminds me of one of my favorite series, The Amory Ames series. Fingers crossed that it’s just as good.
Marilla of Green Gables -Sarah McCoy
I mean, as a long time fan of Anne of Green Gables, how can I not??
Who are some new authors you are looking forward to discovering?
I read Marilla of Green Gables last year, too! It was wonderful.
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
I’ve placed a hold on it at the library, but it will be a long wait. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Looks like you have found many new authors last year that I’d like to check out.
Happy reading to you in 2019!! I hope you find more new to you authors this year.
