Today’s Topic: Books I’ve Added to my TBR and Forgotten Why
Hosted by: That Artsy Reader Girl
When your TBR list is almost as big as your actual bookshelf, it’s fairly easy to forget why some of the titles were originally added. In fact, I discovered that I didn’t even remember adding some of these books to my TBR at all.
Most likely, I chose these books because the cover grabbed me or because I read positive reviews about them. But who is to say for sure?
In 27 Days – Not in my usual reading ouevre, I’m guessing the back cover blurb caught my attention. In fact, I’m still kinda intrigued…a deal with Death? Sign me up.
The Light in Summer – Hands down, it was the cover that sold me on this book.
The Haunting of Maddy Clare – I’m pretty sure the cover and the gothic feel of this ghost story first stirred my interest.
The War Between Us – I’m guessing this WWII story about a Korean American boy who is befriended by an American girl reminded me of another great book, Between the Lines.
One Last Try – The synopsis for this reads like a Hallmark movie, so maybe that is why it originally appealed to me.
Shadows of Hope – Hmm, a love triangle with a pregnancy. Maybe this one appealed when I had more of a taste for angst and drama.
Yours, Dorothy -This must have caught my eye after watching a mini-series about King Charles, since it is set in the same time period.
By the Book – Ooh, after reading the synopsis claiming it as a modern re-telling of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, I’m keeping this on my list.
Bittersweet Brooklyn – I can only imagine the cover and historical time setting caught my eye.
When Summer Ends – I have no idea how this ended up on my TBR pile, but this YA sounds cute.
Why do we pick books for the cover alone? After some BIG mistakes I really should know better but never do seem to learn!
I know the feeling! But then I’ve also discovered some really great books the same way.
A good book cover can sell me on a book too. I enjoyed your picks. Happy Tuesday.

Wow, The Haunting of Maddy Clare looks good!
My TTT .
It does, doesn’t it!
That Night In Summer is the CUTEST cover!!! I would add it just based off that!!
I think I might have read When Summer Ends. I read one of her books at least and really liked it.
I love the cover of The Light in the Summer.
