Today’s Topic: Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings (If you celebrate a different Winter holiday, adapt this topic to fit it!)
Hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish
The difficulty with this week’s topic was in keeping my list short. I have a very long TBR list of books I already own. But there are many that I am dying to read that I first need to have in my possession.
One year for Christmas my parents unintentionally gave me a bunch of jewelry. My mom was a bit disappointed with my lack of enthusiasm. She finally looked at me and said, “We should have just given you books, shouldn’t we.” Yes, yes you should have. So, please Santa, bring me books and lots of them.
Firstborn -Ever since I read The Progeny a year ago I have been yearning to read its’ sequel. The problem is I don’t own it and it’s killing me!
A Dangerous Legacy -The latest from one of my favorite historical fiction authors.
Many Sparrows -Reading Lori Benton’s novels are like traveling back in time to pre-Revolutionary America. She tells exceptional stories.
Conversations With Classic Film Stars -I’m a film lover and learning about some of my favorite stars in their own words is pretty much the best it gets.
Jean Arthur: The Actress Nobody Knew -This book has been on my list a looooong time. Jean Arthur was a great actress but a bit of an enigma. She kept her private life private, but I want to know more about her.
Blind Spot & Dead Drift -Though I’m not a huge fan of romantic suspense, I have to read the remaining two books in this series to find out the truth about the guys’ missing friend.
Crown of Souls -Kendig writes amazing military action series and the Tox Files is her best yet. I can’t wait to go on more adventures with Tox and his team.
Amory Ames Series – I read the first book (Murder at the Brightwell) and fell in love with Amory and its’ upper class 1930’s British ambiance. Now, I want to read more of Amory’s adventures and find out what happens between her and her husband.
Storm and Silence Saga -Lilly Linton has been one of my favorite book characters this year. I love her feisty independence and clashes with her boss. I can’t wait to see how their relationship progresses.
The Everstone Chronicles -I read the first book years ago and loved it. I just haven’t gotten around to purchasing the rest of the series.
Haha, I would love books, but nobody ever gets me any. I hope you get all these!
